This is an enormous chain and I’m sorry, but I need to say this:

The laws in the Old Testament were set forth by god as the rules the Hebrews needed to follow in order to be righteous, to atone for the sin of Adam and Eve and to be able to get into Heaven. That is also why they were required to make sacrifices, because it was part of the appeasement for Original Sin.

According to Christian theology, when Jesus came from Heaven, it was for the express purpose of sacrificing himself on the cross so that our sins may be forgiven. His sacrifice was supposed to be the ultimate act that would free us from the former laws and regulations and allow us to enter Heaven by acting in his image. That is why he said “it is finished” when he died on the cross. That is why Christians don’t have to circumcise their sons (god’s covenant with Jacob), that is why they don’t have to perform animal sacrifice, or grow out their forelocks, or follow any of the other laws of Leviticus.

When you quote Leviticus as god’s law and say they are rules we must follow because they are what god or Jesus wants us to do, what you are really saying, as a Christian, is that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was invalid. He died in vain because you believe we are still beholden to the old laws. That is what you, a self-professed good Christian, are saying to your god and his son, that their plan for your salvation wasn’t good enough for you.

So maybe actually read the thing before you start quoting it, because the implications of your actions go a lot deeper than you think.

i mean yeah that would work except homosexuality being a sin is mentioned in the New Testament, not just Leviticus.

Just to add to what Victoria said, even if the new testament said nothing about homosexuality specifically(it does) it would still be a sin. Also, when Jesus warned against adultery and lust in the heart(Matt 5:27-30), that includes the sin of homosexuality because He was using the the common Jewish understand of sexual sin.

Also, in the OT there are moral, civil, and ceremonial laws. There isn’t just one kind of law. The civil and ceremonial laws are no longer binding because the types were fulfilled in Christ or they were only in the context of the ancient theocracy of Israel.(Meaning the purpose of these laws was fulfilled and that’s why they’re no longer binding) As for the moral law, Christ died to free us from the condemnation of transgressing the law but the moral law is still binding. Christ fulfilled it, he didn’t come to do away with it. This is affirmed numerous times in the New Testament in various ways.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” - Matt. 5:17

So the moral law is still binding. Everything that was morally a sin in the OT is still morally a sin now. The difference is that those who trust in Christ are freed from the condemnation of the law. They receive forgiveness of transgressions on the basis of Christ’s sacrifice… nevertheless the moral law is still the standard for godly living. So the moral law is still binding it’s just that our relationship to it has changed. Thus, homosexuality and any other deviation from God’s moral law is still forbidden.

I hate to break it to the athiest who posted above but… you don’t understand Christian theology as well as you think you do. In fact, you misunderstand it. Have a good day :)

I apologize for not updating everyone on my nephew he was set to receive a liver transplant but after they looked him over they concluded that the liver was too large for him. So he is still doing well aside from an infection located in the port that’s on his chest (to make for easy access by iv). The infection was most likely caused by the staff at Houston’s children’s hospital using non-sterile equipment. Please pray for him; his condition makes difficult for his body to fight infections. The Bible tells of a time when Jesus fed a crowd of five thousand with only five loaves. That day, everyone had more than enough to eat and there were still twelve baskets full of bread. That’s because we serve a God of abundance! I love that Jesus told the disciples to collect all the leftovers “so that nothing is wasted.” With God, nothing is ever wasted. He’ll never waste an experience; He’ll never waste a hurt; He’ll never waste a dream; He’ll never waste even a single piece of bread.

God is still in the miracle-working business. He is still our Creator and He is a Restorer. If you’ve felt like you’ve wasted years of your life in the wrong job, hanging around the wrong people, doing the wrong things, God will gather those years and restore them back to you. He’ll take those experiences that the enemy meant for your harm, and He’ll turn them around for your good. He’ll make you stronger, wiser, and better off than you were before. He can launch you further into your destiny than before. Be encouraged today because with God all things are possible and nothing is ever wasted!

Heavenly Father, I give You every bit of my life, my past, my present, and my future. Thank you for taking every experience in my life and turning it around for my good. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Your part is simply to trust Him and switch over from an attitude of fear and doubt to an attitude of faith. How do you change your attitude? Start by changing what comes out of your mouth. Instead of speaking about your situation, speak to your situation. Every day declare, “This is the day that the Lord has made. He is taking me into seasons of increase. I’m moving forward with strength through the joy of the Lord!” When you start speaking like that, soon your mind and heart will grab hold of the truth, and it won’t be long before you’re walking in the increase God has prepared for you!

My nephew is soon to receive a much needed liver transplant. We have waited 6 months for this and it was certainly a long wait. Missed two earlier chances due unforeseen circumstances but the wait has paid off. Now just for the surgery. I am very excited and very glad that he is going to have a chance at a normal life. God has been so good to my family and I, even though, we are certainly undeserving of his kindness. Please pray that God have His hand over my nephew while he’s undergoing surgery!

God is so good even when we are so bad. I have not been walking as I should and I am just so fed up with myself. I am not the kindest nor am I the most obedient but he still loves me. This great and beautiful creator watches over me and still loves me despite the things he sees me do. There is no greater love. Maybe one day I will realize this in the very depths of my soul without any doubt.

Stop settling for the highest bidder paid with in compliments on things you never had control of. What a beautiful body! Such a gorgeous smile! Nice lips! Worth less than your soul! Just a covering for what is real! Stop lusting at things that never satisfy you, and never will! They can’t pay for you salvation but they sure do make a debt for your demise. You’re worth more than the attention your paid for being outlandish, or flirty. You’re worth more than the gashes you cut into you arms to pay for you misery that you’ve cut even deeper. You’re worth more than when you say you are worthless and give into the pain. Worth more than the drugs that numb all the stress from days spent laboring for nothing it seems. Worth more than staring at pictures wishing you were them looking at every detail wishing different skin, hair, nose or face. Worth more than fulfilling the pressure between your legs with dirty pictures from confused strangers. Worth more than just feeling good for the sake of feeling good. Thank you but I am far from wonderful. If there is anything good in me it is certainly of The Lord. I stumble too many times to even walk so it his strength that I can even go on. My spirit is willing but my flesh is weak.
